Event Theme

Jane Gardam has won the Whitbread Award for The Queen of the Tambourines and The Hollow Land. Other books include God on the Rocks which was a runner-up for the Booker Prize. Old Filth and The Man in the Wooden Hat contain characters common to both books and are set against the end of the Raj. Jane Gardam was awarded an OBE in 2009.
