Michael Flaherty is originally from Brandon in West Kerry. Having qualified as a teacher he then went to study painting in Sligo. After periods in Edinburgh, USA and Dublin he returned to Kerry in 1989 to paint concentrating on the magnificent landscape around Mount Brandon. He has exhibited widely in Ireland, England, France and USA and is represented in many public and private collections.
