ERIC P KAUFMANN is Reader in Politics
& Sociology at Birkbeck College, University of London. He
is the author of The Rise and Fall of Anglo-America: the decline
of dominant ethnicity in the United States (Harvard, 2004), The
Orange Order: A Contemporary Northern Irish History (Oxford 2007),
co-author of Unionism and Orangeism in Northern Ireland Since
1945 (Manchester 2007) and editor of Rethinking Ethnicity: Majority
Groups and Dominant Minorities (Routledge, 2004).
He has written numerous journal articles in the fields of religious
demography, nationalism and ethnic conflict. Most recently, he
has completed an ESRC project which examines the impact of demography
on religious revival.
He is also an editor of the journal Nations & Nationalism.
