A lunchtime of poetic delight and enchantment featuring poets:

Greg Delantey

Greg Delanty was born in Cork City in 1958 and lived there until 1986. He currently lives mainly in Vermont, USA where he is a teacher but each year he returns to his Irish home in Derrynane, Co Kerry. He has received numerous awards for his poetry including The Patrick Kavanagh Award, The Allan Dowling Poetry Fellowship, The Austin Clarke Centenary Poetry Award and the National Poetry Competition.

James Harpur

James Harpur, born of Irish-British Parents, has three poetry collections published by Anvil Press: A Vision of Comets, The Monk’s Dream and Oracle Bones. He won first prize in the UK Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition and has received numerous other awards and bursaries including The Cork Arts, The Eric Gregory Trust, the Society of Authors and the Hawthornden Foundation.

 

Paddy Bushe

Paddy Bushe was born in Dublin in 1948. His poetry collections include Poems With Amergin, Teanga, Counsellor, Digging Towards The Light, In Ainneoin na gCloch, and Hopkins on Skellig Michael . He lives in Waterville, Co Kerry.

Music for the event will be provided by Mickey McConnell, originally from Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh and is best known for his song “Only Our Rivers Run Free”. He lives in Listowel and works as a journalist and songwriter.
